Eda Aslan (1993, Istanbul) studied Sculpture at Marmara University’s Fine Arts Faculty and graduated in 2017. Currently, she is pursuing her graduate studies in the Department of Painting of the same university.
Aslan’s production is shaped around the axis of history, space and memory, and situated on a mode of production driven by an obsession of recording. Her works were shown on various platforms including The Clandestine Life of Objects, Evliyagil Dolapdere, Istanbul (2019); Recollections of Twilight, Krank Art Gallery, Istanbul (2019); 4th Mardin Biennial, Turkey (2018); Red Bull Art Around, Istanbul (2018), and You Left Behind, Kasa Gallery, Istanbul (2017). Holder of the Siemens Borders Orbits 18 Prize (DEPO, Istanbul, 2017), the artist was selected for and her works were exhibited as part of many competitions like Young Fresh Different VII, Zilberman Gallery, Istanbul (2016); Mamut Art Project, KüçükÇiftlik Park, Istanbul (2017), and Base, Galata Greek Primary School, Istanbul (2017). The project “The Garden of (not) Forgetting” that she has been running together with architect Dilşad Aladağ was granted the SALT Research Funds in 2018 and Ministry of Culture Documentary Support Fund in 2019.
