The Cité Internationale des Arts Turkey Workshop offers artists from Turkey the opportunity to live and work in Paris for three-month periods. In its upcoming term, the programme is open to cultural and artistic practitioners working in a range of disciplines, including visual arts, experimental film, design, performance, music and literature.

Each year, two visual artists, one musician and one writer are selected to take part in the residency during one of the following periods: January–March, April–June, July–September or October–December.

Applications for the 2026 residency must be submitted via the online application form no later than 5 p.m. (Turkey time) on 2 October 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey;
  • Be under the age of 40 at the time of application;
  • Have a good command of at least one of the following languages: English or French;
  • Work professionally in one or more of the following disciplines: visual arts, experimental film, design, performance, music or literature;
  • (For literature applicants) Have published a book in the fields of fiction, short stories, poetry or essays within the past five years, and submit a clear and feasible writing project to be carried out during the three-month residency in Paris.

Applications for the Cité des Arts Turkey Workshop will be assessed based on the applicant’s portfolio, the proposed project outlined in the letter of intent, the extent to which the Artist-in-Residence Programme at the Cité des Arts can accommodate the needs of the project, and the potential contribution of Paris to the project’s development. Applications may be submitted with either a new or ongoing project.

Applications submitted collectively or as a group will not be considered.

Requirements for application

  • The applicant’s portfolio;
  • The proposed project described in the letter of intent;
  • The suitability of the project for the conditions provided by the Cité des Arts Artist-in-Residence Programme;
  • The potential benefit of being in Paris for the development of the proposed work.

Applicants may apply with a new or ongoing project.

Applications submitted collectively or by groups will not be considered.

Please note that as all applications will be shared with Cité des Arts Paris, all documents must be submitted in English.

Applications will be accepted only via the online application form until 2 October 2025 at 17.00 (Turkey time).

Applications are reviewed by three separate selection committees, each composed of experts in the relevant fields. Following the initial assessment by the committees, shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews with committee members and the İKSV team, during which they will be asked to discuss their artistic practice and the project they propose to develop during their stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts Turkey Workshop. Applicants will be informed of the results, whether positive or negative, via email following the evaluation process.

Due to the high volume of applications, it is not possible to provide updates on application status during the selection process, nor to offer individual feedback or reasons for unsuccessful applications.
