Nilüfer Şaşmazer works as an independent curator and editor. 

Şaşmazer curated the exhibitions Petrified Dreams, Galeri Nev, İstanbul (2022) and Fugue, Evliyagil Museum, Ankara (2019) and co-curated the exhibitions Dark Deep Darkness and Splendor, Galerist (2017) and La Ventura, Ark Kültür (2016). She also co-curated Füreya Koral’s largest up-to-date retrospective, Füreya (2017), while also co-authoring and co-editing her monograph. She also recently co-edited Füsun Onur: Once Upon a Time…, the monograph of Füsun Onur, who represented the Pavilion of Turkey in the 59th Venice Biennale (2022). 

Among her recent editorial works are the publications of the group exhibition You Know Who, Abdülmecid Efendi Mansion (2022) organized with the support of Koç Holding, the 16th International Istanbul Biennale (2019) titled 'The Seventh Continent' and curated by Nicolas Bourriaud; as well as for the publications of Meşher, founded by the Vehbi Koç Foundation in the autumn of 2019, in the inaugural exhibition Beyond the Vessel, Meşher (2019) and its following exhibition Alexis Gritchenko – The Constantinople Years, Meşher (2020).
