Hale Tenger is primarily known for her immersive installations bringing diverse materials together in an elaborate combination. Besides installations her wide range of production encompasses video, audio, sculpture, and photograph. Tenger draws her subject matter from the cultural, political and psychosocial references. Her artistic production is characterized by the overt stimulation of the sensory and intellectual perceptions simultaneously. 

Hale Tenger has participated in various biennials, including the 6th Ural Industrial Biennial (2021); 16th Istanbul Biennial (2019); 57th Venice Biennale (2017); 8th Havana Biennial (2003); 3rd Gwangju Biennial (2000); 2nd Johannesburg Biennial (1997); Manifesta 1 (Rotterdam, 1996); 22nd São Paulo Biennial (1994); 4th Istanbul Biennial (1995) and 3rd Istanbul Biennial (1992). Her works are in numerous collections including Centre Pompidou; Art Gallery of Western Australia; Museum Voor Modern Kunst Arnhem; Arter (Vehbi Koç Foundation Collection) and Istanbul Modern (Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı Foundation Collection).
