The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), commissioner of the Türkiye Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia since 2007, launched a two-stage open call to select the project for this year’s 19th International Architecture Exhibition.
The Selection Committee, comprising Melike Altınışık, N. Müge Cengizkan, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Çelik, Oral Göktaş, and Dr. Sait Ali Köknar, reviewed 48 project applications in the first stage and invited three to proceed to the second round. The shortlisted projects are:
> Down-to-Earth
Bilge Kalfa ve Ceren Erdem
> Fault Lines
Kutan Ayata, Koray Duman ve Ferda Kolatan
> IN SITU Süleymaniye
Berin Yüce Uzun ve Can Uzun
In the first stage, projects were evaluated based on their alignment with the curatorial theme, feasibility, and the organisational structure of the team. In the second stage, the teams will present detailed exhibition designs, working methods, printed materials, timelines, and budgets. Leaders of the shortlisted projects will receive a progress payment to further develop their proposals, which they will present to the Selection Committee and the İKSV team.
The final selection for the Türkiye Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia will be announced early November.
