İstanbul Music Festival launches an ambitious youth project in its 40th edition with a view to encourage and discover the young talents nationwide. The project entitled, "İstanbul Music Festival in search of its Young Soloist" will start with violin in 2012 and run in a different instrument each year.
The auditions are open to all Turkish violinists, not older than 24 years of age and will ultimately determine one soloist to perform a concerto at the 40th Istanbul Music Festival with the Istanbul University State Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ramiz Aslanov. This rapturous event, which will feature over a hundred young musicians on stage, will definitely be one of the highly moving concerts of the festival.
The auditions are to be held on 21 March 2012 by the jury comprising Ramiz Aslanov, Cihat Aşkın, Çiğdem İyicil, and Yeşim Gürer Oymak. The result of the auditions will then be announced on the İFCA website on 23 March, Friday.
