The children’s book So Long, So Big, So Many! was published under the scope of the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial held between 22 September and 4 November, 2018, with the support of the Bernard Van Leer Foundation.

The book written by Yekta Kopan and designed jointly with Burcu Ural Kopan was illustrated by Ada Tuncer. Based on Scales School, one of the six venues of the biennial, So Long, So Big, So Many! familiarises children with design and measuring units through games and stories on spaghetti making.

Prof. Dr Feyza Çapan from Boğaziçi University, Department of Psychology provided the academic counselling and Can Gürses the scientific counselling for the book. Printed in three languages; Turkish, English and Arabic, the book was distributed free of charge at biennial venues and affiliated bookstores for the duration of the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial. With the collaboration of several institutions, workshops in connection with the book were held for children at various districts of Istanbul and İKSV Alt Kat: Learning and Interaction Space.
