Deniz Aktaş (1987, Diyarbakır) graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts Painting Department in 2010. 

Aktaş's works touch upon the themes of memory and migration, with a special interest in the city and its sceneries. Selected group exhibitions include Open City, Pilot Gallery, Istanbul (2016); Mythologies, 3rd Mardin Biennial (2015); Second Nature, ODTÜ Art-16, Ankara (2015); How Should Be A War Remembered?, CerModern, Ankara (2015); Homo homini ya da yarını unutmak, M1886, Ankara (2014); Mamut Art Project, Antrepo, Istanbul (2013), and Amok Runner video anthology at the 3rd Çanakkale Biennial (2013).

Deniz Aktaş lives and works in Istanbul. He is currently a graduate student at Yeditepe University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Plastic Arts.
