One of the most ambitious projects ever realised by director Steven Soderbergh and co-producer Benicio Del Toro, who “obsessively researched” Guevera's life for seven years, Che is a two-part biopic about legendary Marxist revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara. The film incorporates three storylines: Guevara's life and the Cuban revolution; his demise in Bolivia; and his trip to New York to speak at the U.N. With so much information, Soderbergh decided to split the script into two separate films. The first part tracks Che's rise in the Cuban Revolution from 1956, and ends with his victory. |
