Haşmet, is an old drunkard street photographer who has lost everything because of his drinking problems. One day he meets Ayşe who has run away from her rural village to Istanbul leaving her lover and family to become an actress. Ayşe and Haşmet form a delicate, warm relationship. But through a coincidence, Ayşe truly becomes a famous singer and detaches from Haşmet. Written by Safa Önal, the film's cast also includes Feridun Çölgeçen, Diclehan Baban, Bilge Zobu. In this unique Turkish classic, Atıf Yılmaz delicately captures the intact features of İstanbul and the changes of society of that period.
