For Book Loving Art Lovers
İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts published six precious books with unique contents and designs in the past two years. Apart from Rengâhenk, Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi: 99 Şiir 99 Resim (Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi: 99 Poems 99 Images), Gurbetlik Zor Zanaat/ C'est un dur métier que l'exil (Exile, A Hard Trade), Beyoğlu'ndan Esintiler (Impressions form Beyoğlu) and Beyoğlu 150, both revealing the history of Beyoğlu and finally, the English version of grand diva Leyla Gencer's biography, Leyla Gencer–A Story of Passion by Zeynep Oral was presented to readers with new images and a special design. The books published by İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts are also a welcomed and meaningful gift alternative for art lovers.
RENGÂHENK
Can Yücel & Burhan Uygur
In this handiwork production presented by İKSV Design, Burhan Uygur's pictures, painted exclusively for this work, meet with poems by his close friend and poet Can Yücel, which were previously published in his book Rengâhenk. The book includes 44 images, painted by Burhan Uygur while he read the 121 poems, along with the original pages of the book. Only 550 copies of this book designed by Yeşim Demir were printed and numbered. Rengâhenk opens with Ferit Edgü's introduction "Yücel and Uygur: The transformation of the poem into imagery" and is presented to the reader with the support of İstanbul Kültür University. »»

Gurbetlik Zor Zanaat combines Nâzım Hikmet's most beautiful poems with Abidin Dino's designs. Prepared by İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts under the art counseling of Metin Deniz and edited by Ferit Edgü, the book includes great poet Nâzım Hikmet's poems in English and French. The French poems in this work come from a period when the poet was in Paris. They are special translations, translated mot-à-mot by the Dino couple, while Nâzım Hikmet and French poet Charles Dobzynski tried to catch the form and tone of the French language. Published in a limited number, Gurbetlik Zor Zanaat is presented to the reader with the support of İstanbul Kültür University. »»
