RENGÂHENK Can Yücel & Burhan Uygur
In this handiwork production presented by İKSV Design, Burhan Uygur's pictures, painted exclusively for this work, meet with poems by his close friend and poet Can Yücel, which were previously published in his book Rengâhenk. The book includes 44 images, painted by Burhan Uygur while he read the 121 poems, along with the original pages of the book. Only 550 copies of this book designed by Yeşim Demir were printed and numbered. Rengâhenk opens with Ferit Edgü's introduction "Yücel and Uygur: The transformation of the poem into imagery" and is presented to the reader with the support of İstanbul Kültür University. »»
"It is such an extraordinary book that you hold in your hands. Poet and painter, both unaware of each other, both in love with the other' art; there is neither a commission, nor an exhibition or the intention to publish.
The painter adds his art to a poetry book he enjoys, by a poet he likes.
Here is the outcome.
Here is the book"

GURBETLİK ZOR ZANAAT / C'EST UN DUR MÉTIER QUE L'EXIL
(EXILE, A HARD TRADE)
Nâzım Hikmet & Abidin Dino
Gurbetlik Zor Zanaat combines Nâzım Hikmet's most beautiful poems with Abidin Dino's designs. Prepared by İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts under the art counseling of Metin Deniz and edited by Ferit Edgü, the book includes great poet Nâzım Hikmet's poems in English and French. The French poems in this work come from a period when the poet was in Paris. They are special translations, translated mot-à-mot by the Dino couple, while Nâzım Hikmet and French poet Charles Dobzynski tried to catch the form and tone of the French language. Published in a limited number, Gurbetlik Zor Zanaat is presented to the reader with the support of İstanbul Kültür University. »»
"Nâzım's newly created poems met with French readers in a weekly arts and culture paper (called Lettres Françaises), mostly along with Abidin's designs. Abidin, who never got tired, not only worked on the translations of the poems, but also created illustrations for each of the poems as if he were saying "a poem without a picture is incomplete."

BEYOĞLU'NDAN ESİNTİLER: BEYOĞLU'NUN 150 YILLIK EDEBİYATINDAN SEÇMELER (IMPRESSIONS FROM BEYOĞLU: SELECTED WORKS FROM 150 YEARS OF LITERATURE ON BEYOĞLU) Selection: Doğan Hızlan Design: Tan Oral
Extracts out of 100 precious works of literature dealing with or taking place in Beyoğlu selected by Doğan Hızlan meet with Tan Oral's designs, which he produced exclusively for these specific passages. Following the traces of Beyoğlu within literature, the book was published in the scope of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Beyoğlu Municipality with the support of Rezan Has Museum and Mr. Engin Hitay. The book is designed by Yeşim Demir. »»
"The anthology which you hold in your hands is a small scale literary map of Beyoğlu. Some regions on this map seem as far to us as places discovered by an old pirate, some reveal the changes reminding the speed of a racing car; but all tell the story of people living in Beyoğlu. No other area is memorized with people so often or narrated of. (...) How can I love a city, a neighbourhood? By reading what is written about it, by seeing through the eyes of an author."
