Anka Film, the production company of Fatih Akın's The Cut, has retracted the film from the Filmekimi program, due to the film's public opening at theatres. The Cut thus will not be screened as part of Filmekimi.

Ali Akdeniz, a producer of the film said, "planned to open publicly at theatres on 17 October, Fatih Akın's The Cut was to premiere at Filmekimi, which will take place 11-17 October. Since the opening date of The Cut was delayed to December, and therefore the premiere and the opening having about 2 months between, together with the local distribution company, we took the decision to cancel the Filmekimi premiere of the film. We would like to apologise to all the Filmekimi audience and staff. See you in December."
