Founder of the inspirational "El Sistema", José Antonio Abreu, and Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, under the baton of world-renowned Gustavo Duadamel will be in Istanbul in August, for a series of events.

The amazingly gifted Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel is entirely educated in El Sistema. Founded by musician José Antonio Abreu , El Sistema is a publicly financed music education system in Venezuela, which watches over youth orchestras and the instrumental training programmes which make them possible. The foundation is making classical musicians out of more than 250,000 young Venezuelans, and it has transformed the lives of many underprivileged youths. It has already inspired many countries across the hemisphere to launch similar programmes.

Venezuela Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, a significant product of El Sistema, will be in Istanbul on 8 and 9 August for two concerts. In addition to the concerts, the events will also include debates on how to launch a similar system in Turkey, with the participation of José Antonio Abreu.

İKSV invites you not only to experience the El Sistema miracle but also to create a life changing experience for children in Istanbul. If you wish, you can share this musical dream with 5, 10, 20 or 100 children by your donations. Please call (212) 334 07 94 or send an e-mail to hulya.tarlan@iksv.org for detailed information.
